Handcraft Tile was commisisoned by Steve Sanford, Executive Director of the Bay Area Pottery Show, to make these three tiles according to Steve's personal designs. Steve Sanford is a nationally known collector of pottery. He is an expert in the field and has written many books on the subject. These tiles were sold as collectible tiles at the 1999 BAPS. In addition, Steve and his wife Martha used them as decoratives in remodelling their master bathroom.

The back of each tile is stamped: "BAPS 1999 - Handcraft Tile".

The tiles were made in five different glaze colors. The glaze shown here is Celadon.
