Handcraft Tile's regular stairtreads have a flat walking surface and a sill (a lip) that covers the front edge of the stairstep. The standard size for regular stairtreads are 12" x 12". They can be cut to a smaller size, if needed. Unglazed treads are produced in all of our clay colors: Terra Cotta, Niles Red, Burgundy, or California Adobe. For indoor use, they can be glazed in any of our glazes. |

Regular 12" stairtreads are used here along with treads that were custom cut to fit the radius of the rounded staircase. The basic color is Terra Cotta. Some tiles have subtle coloring giving an interesting, weathered look. This was achieved with slip glazes (engobes). | |
