P-Sill Stairtreads


Handcraft Tile's P-Sill stairtreads have a flat walking surface and a sill (a lip) that covers the front edge of the stairstep. The P-Sill has a graceful rounded sill. The standard size for regular stairtreads are 12" x 12". They can be cut to a smaller size, if needed. Unglazed treads are produced in all of our clay colors. For indoor use, they can be glazed in any of our glazes.
This lovely Spanish-style home has Handcraft Tile 12" x 12" square tiles and P-Sill stairtreads on the front entry steps. The clay is Terra Cotta.

The picture above is a close-up of the P-sill on a small step-down to the back patio. Notice how nicely the corner finishes off the step. Also notice the use of Handcraft Tile foundation vents. See "Decorative Tiles - Vents", for more examples.

This stoop on the side of the house uses 4" hexagons and 12" P-sill stairtreads in Terra Cotta. On the top step, the P-sills have been cut back to be a "cap". On the bottom step, they are 12" in depth, but have been cut to accommodate the unusual shape of the step.
